Tiger 100C

This project came to us fresh from the importer as a non runner. The brief was to get it running and ready for the road and registered.

Running: We put 12V to the bike to determine what we had. Despite the wiring being in a bad way, there was a spark. There was no fuel in the tank so some fresh petrol was put in the tank, carb was “tickled” and proceeded to kick the bike over. Nothing, nada. Despite cleaning the carb several times, the decision was taken to add a new carb. The new carb was fitted, float chamber tickled, 2nd kick and running!

The bike ended up having a full rewire, electronic ignition and regulator/rectifier. Along with this the bike has had motoX bars fitted, with new brake and clutch perches with modern levers. New wheel bearings have also been fitted along with swing arm pivot and bushes. The swing arm had also had a hole gouged into it by the rear footrest hanger bolt. This was also repaired.

Only a few jobs remaining now, the clutch slips, the rear brake setup needs sorting out and some swingarm pivot bracing as this model year should have. The bike was possibly hardtailed at some point or rear ended, and had an earlier subframe fitted. Last but not least, the side stand bracket needs rewelding to the frame.
